Friends and a BBQ

This is how we spent the most beautiful last Saturday:

It's a good view.

Dave and Christi. It's time they had some babies.

My Dave. I love this picture.

David Levente.

Harrison Gabriel.

Hi. Like my haircut? I have so much more time on my hands now...

They want the phone so badly. All the time.
Then I made some cookies that were eaten so quickly I could not get a good picture. The main ingredient is one of the best and most tasty good foods we have! The boys eat it by the baby spoon full.
Avocado.
Here is the recipe. The cookies are so rich and moist. My suggestions are to make sure it is mixed well and evenly, and to make smaller portions. A little bite goes a long way.

Hope you are enjoying your Springtime.

Today

Today was so nice. Today was Spring. Warm and breezy.
Warmth makes me happy. I noticed not too long ago that I'm most angry when I'm cold (and don't realize that I'm cold). Once I'm warm I'm like, ya know, I don't really care. I feel goood.

Today I felt goood. We were outside a lot - which is the place I like to be. We are in the process of ordering a jogger, but I have been jogging with our train of a stroller (Baby Trend Snap n Go Double Stroller which is amazing) anyway because I'm impatient and it suffices in the meantime. Although, the boys are in the 75th percentile for height (which is a miracle for our recent genes...) and they REALLY don't want to be in those carseats or that stroller anymore. Can't wait. Anyway, they're getting better at the things they're working on every day. They can literally crawl up the stairs without me knowing and be fine almost every time. Luckily I always catch them mid-stairway. Harrison does it in like 40 seconds though. And his new favorite thing is clapping his hands; David's new favorite thing might be tackling Harrison. I'll try to get videos.

After they wake up in the morning they sit and talk back and forth in their cribs for about 30 minutes. It gives us a little more time to sleep in.
Pink pacifier that they chew on... Dave bought it. He also previously bought a couple pink lidded bottles. I'm pretty sure he doesn't look at what he purchases for them half the time. Luckily I don't care! As long as he doesn't buy anything else pink... He's a good dad. Remember how they love saying "dada"?

This is them after our quick jog. They did not want to go back inside. They look so tiny sitting in the front yard.

P.S. I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow. What should I do?

Nine Months

*The beginning of this post was written on the 2nd.

Well, they're 9 months old today. So here I am. This has felt like the longest month for some reason. I think it's because I've been anticipating my mother's arrival (which was today), and because I've been waiting and WAITING for Springtime! I think it's finally here in Central PA.

They're so much stronger than they were a month ago. They are slowly walking along tables. They crawl and climb onto everything and they pick things up and eat with their hands. They are in 12-18 month clothes now which is crazy for being in the 3rd and 10th percentile in weight when they were born. David has one tooth and Harrison has zero. Haha.

They call everything "Dada" and only say the word mom every once in a while. It was really funny - David was staring deeply at a little puff snack and finally said "Mom" in an approving voice. And then he ate it.

It's amazing how much children learn on their own, just experiencing life. And I think because they have each other they learn how to be weird and social very early in life (Dave and I may also contribute to the weirdness, according to my mother). Going from zero to two children is a crazy thing to go through, but I think it was better for me to have two than one. I get to learn so much so fast, and be never so exhausted in my life as I am now, and see new and individual growth from each of them every day. Every part of me is very, very occupied, and I love it. I love the challenge. My husband loves it too. If only he had a job or church calling that allowed him more time at home!

On another note: I made an April Fool's joke that I was pregnant again, and it was hilarious to see the wide range of emotion in response. Thankfully, I am not pregnant.

Again, I AM NOT PREGNANT. Rest easy tonight.

It's been fun having my mom here. She's already leaving in a couple days which I'm mad about. Here's yesterday morning:
***Video on standby - Hopefully blogger will work later***

We are passionately looking forward to summertime. Specifically, having new carseats and strollers, swimming pools, family vacations, my brother's wedding!, and no more winter depression.

I'm also looking forward to more sports and skateboarding with the broken-but-still-functional skateboard Dave found for me.

What are you excited about this summer? Do you have any traditions?
